Dr. Ayesha will participate in the International Women’s Leadership Program in the United States

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – Aug 26, 2022): Prominent Kashmiri Academician and Registrar of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof. Ayesha Sohail left for the United States on Friday to participate in the Michigan State University International Visiting Professionals Program for “Pakistani Women’s Leadership in Higher Education”.

According to a press release, the program aimed to train women leaders in higher education to improve their administrative abilities to advance to leadership positions such as Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Rector or Pro-Rector. .

Participants in the training program will have the opportunity to network with women leaders from American universities throughout the duration of the program.

For the program, 25 female academic leaders from diverse academic and leadership backgrounds across Pakistan were selected from 200 applicants following a three-month screening process.

The International Professional Program was designed in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) and funded by the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan.

It provides rich professional development and exchange for top female leaders across Pakistan in higher education.

Dr. Ayesha Sohail is already the recipient of several international and national scholarships and awards.

She has represented Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan in various international higher education forums.

Dr. Sohail received his PhD in Linguistics from the University of Sheffield, UK in 2011 and has served the UAJK in various capacities. She has made outstanding contributions in the field of research and institutional development.

Additionally, Dr. Sohail has won a number of higher education scholarships for his quality research work in addition to supervising a significant number of PhD students and Master of Philosophy researchers.
