PA welcomes Yemeni president’s decision to delegate powers to Presidential Leadership Council

The Arab Parliament (AP) has invited Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to establish a Presidential Leadership Council to continue the tasks of the transition period and delegate to the council all the powers of the president of the republic in accordance with the constitution and the law. In a statement, the PA underscores its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and assistance entities to enable it to discharge its duties in implementing effective policies and initiatives that would ensure security and stability in Yemen and put an end to the Yemeni crisis.

The PA stressed the importance of building on the existing intra-Yemeni consultations to reach a final solution to the crisis under the auspices of the United Nations in order to end the suffering of the Yemeni people and realize their aspirations for peace. security, development, and stability.

The AP also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s announcement of urgent support to the Yemeni economy for $3 billion, the support includes $2 billion in equal shares from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. to support the Central Bank of Yemen, in addition to supporting petroleum products and development projects and initiatives, and funding the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan 2022 to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and improve their living conditions.

Furthermore, he called for supporting Saudi Arabia’s initiative to convene an international conference to mobilize the necessary support for the Yemeni economy and the Central Bank and the supply of oil derivatives.
