Women’s Health Clinics Founded by Presidential Leadership Scholar Expand Second Coast
Presidential Leadership Scholar Dr. Adeeti Gupta, a board-certified OB-GYN with more than a decade of experience, wants her healthcare brand and personal leadership project, Walk-in gynecological careto be the Starbucks of women’s health – providing standardized products, excellent services across the nation.
The clinics provide comprehensive women’s health care on the same day to any woman who enters. The goal is to provide caring, sensitive and high quality health care to women across the United States – and do it quickly.
“My goal is to get women in and out in about an hour,” said Gupta, who founded the care center in 2014.
When Gupta moved from India to the United States in 2004 to practice medicine, she was discouraged to discover that a lot women in the United States were denied immediate and compassionate care and that the level of quality and access to care for some in the United States resembled conditions in southern countries.
It was then that Gupta decided to open the first–already Women’s health walk-in comprehensive care center.
Gupta’s passion and commitment to women’s health began during her residency in India, when she decided to study obstetrics and gynecology instead of becoming a surgeon.
“Pursuing gynecology was huge for me because that’s when I realized that women are the foundation of society — of any society,” Gupta said. “Their well-being is the key to the future.”
Gupta cites the Presidential Leadership Scholars program as a major contributor to his success at Walk In GYN. The program allowed him to improve his leadership skills and his relationships with his peers in a way that proved essential to the success of his personal leadership project. PLS also influenced the development of its own values and core values of his organization.
“My core values for my team are heart, humility, excellence, authenticity, respect and transparency,” Gupta said. “We celebrate a different value every week in our care centers, and it was awesome.”
And she sees incredible results. Last year walk In GYN Care has seen approximately 50,000 patients across his five new york–and identified several hundred cases of breast, cervical and ovarian cancers that otherwise might have gone undetected until they were already advanced.
The demand for clinics continuous quality services grow rapidly. This week, just in time for World Health Day, walk In GYN Care has opened its first women’s healthcare center in Los Angeles. The bi-coastal expansion is a major step for the organization and in Gupta’s mission.
Several Gupta PLS classmates from 2019 were present at the ribbon–cut to support and celebrate Gupta and the success of his personal leadership project – illustrating the deep connections maintained within the PLS network long after fellows have completed their six modules.
Before parting ways, Gupta shared her personal mantra:
“A woman who is well is complete,” she said. “A woman who is well is autonomous. A woman who is well is unstoppable. A woman who is well paves the way for a better future.
